Name: Sensei Bryan Walton

Dan: Fifth

Favourite Move: Owt that works!

Fovourite Phrase: Can't means won't, won't means press ups!

Comments: I started Karate at just eight after I was bullied at school. I though it would be a good way to gain self-confidence and develop skills to defend myself. I enjoyed it so much that I still train to the current day and teach at my own club in Grimthorpe where the core of my students come from.

Name: Sensei Mick Winset

Dan: Third

Favourite move: The last one.

Favourite Phrase: You can't hit them if you've got your back turned on them.

Comments: I began Karate along with my two daughters in 1992, I thought it would give them someone to practice their new skills on! I soon found Karate to be something I really enjoyed and at my first grading I double-graded to yellow belt, a very uncommon step, and by 1996 I had attained my black belt!

Name: Sensei Steve Povey

Dan: Third

Favourite Move: Anything that hurts a lot!

Favourite Phrase: Is that my pint you're drinking?

Comments: I enjoy Karate and feel it's important to pass on the skills I've learned to other. The discipline and commitment required to progress through the grading structure sorts out the students who have got what it takes earn their belts.
